The great reunion movement in the Catholic Church was started in 1930 under the leadership of Mar Ivanios the late Archbishop of Archdiocese of Trivandrum. During the initial stages of the apostolic activities of our founder Msgr.Joseph kuzhinjalil, the epidemic Cholera spread over Marthandam in K.K.Dt was cured and controlled miraculously by his prayer and selfless service even at the risk of his life. The miraculous healing of the people lead many of them to the Catholic Church. Gradually Congregation of Daughters of Mary was founded to spread the good news and to help the apostolic activities of Msgr. Kuzhinjalil, in the Archdiocese. Sisters used to visit houses and give first aid to patients and they used to dress the wounds as well.

The congregation of “Daughters of Mary” was founded to foster the movement of unity with the Catholic Church and to announce the Gospel of Christ to the world and to communicate His grace to enjoy the freedom of the children of God.

Our health care ministry brings Jesus and His compassionate healing touch closer to the patients.We draw our inspiration from Jesus the divine healer, and address the health need of the people at various levels to bring holistic healing .Catholic Church envisages a healthy society where people especially the poor and marginalized attain and maintain holistic well being and live in harmony with creator, with self, with one another and with the environment.
