St. Joseph School of Nursing

HISTORY


              School of Nursing was blessed by His Grace Most  Late. Rev.Benedict Mar Gregorios  and inaugurated by Mr.R.Ramachandran  Nair,Hon’ble Minister of Health on January 15th 1994. The school and the hospital along with the help of well qualified staff  provide   excellent academic facilities and clinical experience. The School  provides 3  ½  year GNM course with a 30 strength of students  in each  batch. The School is duly recognized by the Kerala Nursing council  and the Indian Nursing Council. It is run by St. Joseph’s Medical Trust


VISION AND MISSION


The School of nursing profess the motto “let your light shine before men” urges the students to search for newer knowledge and newer ways to discover the real needs of human person through research, study and extension. The school aims to enable the educated person to acquire basic knowledge in nursing and prepare them for first level positions in nursing both in the hospital and the community to provide quality care to the sick with a holistic approach.


PHILOSOPHY:


    We believe that the school of nursing is to prepare the nurses to cater the physical, mental, spiritual and social need of the suffering persons who approach our hospital from various parts of our country, especially our neighboring villages. We also recognize that it is our duty to instill in the students the responsibility of attaining highest academic performance as well as the highest standard of comprehensive care to the patients irrespective of caste or creed. They should be aware that they are the future leaders, loyal to the highest ideals of their profession and dedicated in the spirit of Christ to the service of their fellowmen.
               We assure that we will develop in the students compassion and understanding towards the patients, personal and   intellectual integrity and application of ethical and humanitarian values.
